- 2 men killed in 3-alarm fire
<p> Two men were killed in a three-alarm fire overnight, officials said.</p><p> The fire broke out a little before 3 a.m. Wednesday at 1920 Walbert Avenue, near the former Charlie Brown's Steakhouse, in South Whitehall Twp., Lehigh Co.</p><p> Two people were found inside the burning home and rushed to Lehigh Valley Hospital, but both died a short time later, said Scott Grim, the Lehigh County coroner.</p><p> One of the victims was identified as Russell L. Hutchison, 43; the name of the other victim was not immediately released, pending notification of his family.</p><p> Autopsies on both victims are scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.</p><p> The coroner is is looking for Hutchison's next of kin. Anyone with family information should contact the Lehigh County coroner's office at 610-782-3426.</p><p> A dog also died in the fire, officials said said.</p><p> A Pennsylvania State Police fire marshal is assisting the South Whitehall Township police and fire departments with their investigation of the fire, which does not appear to be suspicious, Grim said.</p> - 18-wheeler goes down embankment; driver flown to hospital
<p> A crumpled pile of wreckage is all that remains of a tractor trailer that went off a highway early Wednesday morning.</p><p> The accident happened around 5 a.m. on Route 422 West in Amity Twp., Berks Co.</p><p> Aerial video showed the 18-wheeler down an embankment below the highway. The driver was trapped in the cab. He was flown to Reading Hospital, said police, who had no information about his condition.</p><p> One lane of Route 422 West, between the Stowe exit in Montgomery County and River Bridge Road in Berks County, was closed for several hours, police said.</p><p> Westbound drivers were reportedly experiencing significant delays in getting by the scene during the morning rush hour.</p><p> Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call the Amity Township Police Dept. at 610-689-6000.</p> - Road crew hits gas line, forces evacuation
<p> A road crew hit a gas line Wednesday morning, forcing some businesses to evacuate as a precaution.</p><p> Janice Kovach, mayor of Clinton, NJ, said a contractor working on East Main Street in the town struck a gas line shortly after 11 a.m.</p><p> Some area businesses were evacuated as a safety precaution.</p><p> Kovach said the fire department is located near the intersection of East Main and Leigh streets and firefighters were on the scene shortly after the incident.</p><p> The contractors and gas company workers are making repairs,Kovach said.</p><p> East Main Street is closed near Leigh Street.</p> - NJ governor staying out of race, sees Romney in front by April

<p> A woman working behind the counter of a corner grocery store experienced some scary moments when a masked man burst inside and demanded money, police said.</p><p> The robbery happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday at Freddy's Grocery at North 10th and Washington streets in Reading.</p><p> The masked man showed a gun and cleared out the cash register, said Sgt. John Solecki, Reading Police Dept., who noted that the robber was last seen running east on Washington Street.</p><p> A customer was also inside the store at the time of the robbery, but no one was hurt, police said.</p><p> If you know anything about the holdup, you're asked to call Crime Alert: Berks County.
